Meet Dennis McGrath

Dennis McGrath is a lifelong Nassau County resident, attorney, small business owner, and community leader who has spent his entire life living, working, and serving in the heart of the communities that make up New York’s 4th Congressional District.

While Democrats drew congressional lines to gain political advantage, they can’t redraw a lifetime of roots in Nassau County.

Dennis grew up less than a mile from the boundary of District 4. He was raised here, educated here, built his career here, and continues to serve families and businesses across the district every day.

Deep Roots in Nassau County

Although Massapequa, where Dennis lives, was intentionally carved out of District 4 through gerrymandering, Nassau County remains one community. Massapequa residents share the same schools, roads, taxes, and challenges as the rest of District 4, and Dennis’s life has always been centered here

Dennis attended St. James Elementary School in Seaford and Chaminade High School in Mineola, both core District 4 communities. His first job was in Garden City, where he learned the value of hard work and personal responsibility.

A Proven Leader and Attorney

After college, Dennis built a successful career as a business owner and job creator, managing both domestic operations and an international manufacturing facility that employed dozens of workers.

In 2010, he shifted toward service, joining the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County in Roosevelt, where he has spent the last 15 years helping lead its for-profit arm, with all proceeds funding critical services for individuals and families with disabilities. While working full-time, Dennis attended law school at night, graduating magna cum laude.

He represented school districts across Long Island as an education attorney before opening his own law firm in 2019.
Today, his practice focuses on real estate law, serving many clients who live and work in District 4.

A Voice for Every Community

Dennis is fluent in Spanish and proudly of Ecuadorian heritage, allowing him to engage directly with the district’s growing Hispanic community without a translator.

Through his long-standing work in Roosevelt and across Nassau County, Dennis also maintains deep relationships within the African American community and understands the importance of listening, showing up, and delivering results.
